With so many attractions in the GTA, it’s not what to do, but where to start.
Soar to the top of the CN Tower – the world’s tallest building – in 58 seconds flat and feast your eyes on spectacular views of our waterfront city on Lake Ontario.
Beautiful architectural additions are underway at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), both in downtown Toronto. At the ROM, unravel the mysteries of the world with exhibits that include superb Chinese and Egyptian collections. Peruse the AGO which houses more than 20,000 works and more than 900 pieces of sculpture and works on paper by Henry Moore. Set your soles down at the Bata Shoe Museum with more than 10,000 items – from Siberian reindeer boots to Elton John’s platform boots.
Kid around a bit with a family-friendly harbour cruise that begins at the waterfront or take a ferry to Centre Island, the ‘green’ island home to an amusement park and beautiful beaches. Splish, splash or paddle a boat at Ontario Place, a themed attraction and entertainment complex also on the waterfront. Practice your slap shot at the Hockey Hall of Fame before heading north through the GTA, exploring the fascinating world of science and technology at the Ontario Science Centre. At the Toronto Zoo, in the northeast corner of the city, observe more than 5,000 animals. And close your eyes as you anticipate the plunge of a roller coaster at Canada’s Wonderland, only 40 minutes from downtown.
