Niagara Falls and Region

With so many ways to drink in the grandeur of the thundering Horseshoe Falls, you might be tempted to do them all.

Travel upriver aboard the Maid of the Mist, right to the edge of the Fall’s crashing waters. Journey Behind the Falls for a view from the platform at Table Rock. Take in the whole sweeping vista from the Skylon Tower, Niagara SkyWheel Ferris Wheel, Konica Minolta Tower or aboard a helicopter. Head downstream and stroll along White Water Walk, where there’s a great gorge with billions of gallons of rushing whitewater, then drive alongside it on the Niagara Parkway, admiring gardens along the way.

In town, experience the mighty power of the Falls with 12,000 watts of power on a 6-storey screen at the IMAX theatre, and visit Daredevil Gallery with a huge collection of memorabilia. Or drop by Clifton Hill for scores of attractions - Louis Tussaud's Waxworks, Guinness Book of World Records Museum, MGM Studio Plaza and lots more. Amaze your senses with the acrobatics and horses of Cirque Niagara’s Avaia, which runs throughout the green season. Treat your family to hours awash with fun at Marineland and let excitement soar at the Butterfly Conservatory.

Or go for an exhilarating adventure aboard a Whirlpool Jet Boat that takes you through the harrowing whitewaters of Devil’s Hole Rapids. In the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, take in the staged wonders of the Shaw Festival and walk its quaint shopping streets. Then stroll gorgeous winery estates in Ontario’s largest wine region.

And in nearby St. Catharines, watch massive freighters as they’re lifted at Lock 3 on the Welland Canal – begun in 1829 and considered one of the engineering wonders of the world.
